What do I need to rent a Vespa?
- Previous experience riding a scooter/motorbike is a must! As professionals, we want you to avoid unnecessary risks and stay safe during your vacation.
- Valid passport or ID
- Credit card to pay the security deposit
- A valid driver’s license in Spain.
What does a valid driver’s license mean?
According to Spanish legislation, the following licenses are valid to drive:
- Vespa 125cc. European driving license: A, A1, A2, B, or international.
- If your license is from outside the European Union, you must also have the International Driving Permit (IDP).
Please note that the customer is responsible for ensuring they have the appropriate license and driving experience for the reservation they are making. No refunds will be issued if this condition is not met.
Can I cancel a reservation?
Yes, reservations can be canceled up to 48 hours before the agreed date. You will be refunded the reservation amount minus a 10% administrative fee. No refund will be issued if the cancellation is made within 48 hours of the agreed date or without prior notice.
Is it necessary to leave a deposit?
Yes, a deposit of €400 is normally required.
If you choose the basic liability reduction, the deposit is reduced to €200.
If you take out the full liability reduction, no deposit will be required.
The full deposit amount will be refunded once the scooter and its accessories are returned in the same condition in which they were delivered.
What is the minimum age to drive a scooter?
The minimum age to drive a Vespa is 21 years old or 3 years of driving experience.
Please note that the minimum age for children to be passengers is 7 years. We do not provide helmets for children.
What does the rental include?
Brand new original Vespa, basic insurance, 24-hour roadside assistance, unlimited mileage, 2 helmets, integrated top case.
What happens if I return my vehicle before the contract ends?
You can do so without any problem, but no refund will be issued.
What does the damage liability reduction cover?
The rental price includes basic third-party liability coverage, which covers damage caused to third parties and passengers.
For any damage the Vespa may suffer, you can choose between two liability reduction options:
Basic liability reduction
The deposit is reduced to €200, which will also be the maximum liability amount. In the event of damage, breakdowns, or other defects affecting the Vespa, the customer will only be responsible for costs up to that limit.
Full liability reduction
No deposit is required. The customer does not assume any cost for damage caused to the Vespa.
Important:
The liability reduction does not cover personal injury or theft of the Vespa.
How can I pay?
You can pay with a credit or debit card or in cash at our office.
What happens if I receive a fine or traffic penalty?
The fines must be paid by the renter, and the amount will be charged to the credit card provided, along with a €30 administrative fee for managing the fine.
Do I need to refill the Vespa’s gas tank?
Yes, we operate under a full-to-full fuel policy. You will need to present the gas station receipt when returning the Vespa.
Where can I park the Vespa?
We recommend parking in areas designated for motorcycles, marked as “MOTORCYCLE PARKING.” You can also park in white-lined parking lots, as well as in car spaces with blue lines, which are free for motorcycles. In no case should you park on the sidewalks.
Can two people use a scooter?
Any Vespa model can accommodate up to two people. Electric scooters are only allowed for one person.
Where can I drive?
125cc models can only be driven on highways, expressways, and conventional roads in Mallorca. Electric scooters must travel on the shoulders, bike lanes, or service lanes, just like bicycles.
Where can I pick up the Vespa?
You can pick up your Vespa at our AMORE RENTAL VESPA & E-WHEELS office located at Playa de Muro, Avenida del Lago 2B (we are in front of BURGER KING).
What happens in case of an accident or theft?
You must contact the authorities immediately and the AMORE RENTAL VESPA & E-WHEELS company as soon as possible. On each vehicle, you will find a list of emergency phone numbers and instructions to follow.
Are there any restricted areas for circulation?
In general, you cannot circulate in all pedestrian areas (ACIRE). In our area, we have the following restricted zones:
- Old town of Alcudia, Pollença.
- The “Caseta dels Capellans” area in Playa de Muro.
- The road from Puerto de Pollença to Formentor (10 AM to 7 PM).
Do the Vespas have GPS?
Yes, our scooters are equipped with GPS for locating them in case of theft or to check if they have entered any restricted circulation areas like Formentor or La Caseta de Capellans.
If we detect entry into restricted areas, we will receive a message and the fine (of €200) will be charged directly to your deposit.
